Fab Find Fridays- Thank you Bobbi

At the start of my pregnancy, I read that mineral makeup is much safer than other kinds. The logic here is that the all natural mineral make-up doesn't absorb into your skin as much as say, a liquid foundation would.

At that time, I thought my only option was BareMinerals, which I had used in the past, but honestly didn't love. I've been a Bobbi Brown girl since I got married two years ago, and I was reluctant to give up my favorite foundation.

But, as luck would have it, Bobbi introduced a line of mineral make-up, just in time for my second trimester. Back in August, I was able to find this at Nordstrom, but now I think it is available where any Bobbi Brown cosmetics are sold. Or you can hit up the website. ( See below).

Thank you Bobbi!

The Big Reveal

When we first found out I was pregnant, my husband and I talked about whether or not we wanted to find out the sex of our baby. I was adamant about not finding out, and although I think he wanted to, he complied with me. I loved the idea of being surprised on the day of the baby's birth, after waiting nine long months to see who he or she is.
But after we got our first ultrasound and saw the little peanut in the womb, I started to think about finding out the sex. I still loved the idea of the surprise, but nine months is a very long time to wait ( especially for someone who is as impatient as me).

As our second trimester ultrasound drew nearer, I realized that I did really want to know. My husband and I talked about how it would help us connect to the baby ( since we'd know exactly what to call it). And, of course, we'd be able to start shopping....

So, three weeks ago, we found out! But since we live so far away from our families, we wanted to make the big reveal really special.
This past weekend, we flew to my parent's house in NJ because my mother was throwing us a baby shower. I knew I wanted to reveal the baby's sex at the shower, in front of our family and friends, so we looked around for cute ways to break the big news, and decided on a cake.

My mother was so surprised when I called her to the front of the restaurant and presented her with a cake. The top said "Its a.." and the icing on the inside revealed the baby's gender. She quickly sliced into it and squealed "It's a boy!".
 It was priceless.
